** SOLD **
A rare and sinister piece of WW1 aviation history, in the form of an aerial dart (flechette)
The darts were launched by WW1 pilots mainly over enemy trenches, and each side had their own slightly different designs. From 3000 ft a dart could easily pierce a helmet and cause horrific inguries.
We have several different variations, and after research believe this to be a British (R.F.C) example. These are harder to find than the German or French darts.
It is in excellent original condition with some minor corrosion - due to being burried for over 90 years.
