A very fine early MK II altimeter by Elliott Bros, London - Circa 1914.
Not to be confused with the Elliott scientific instrument company, Elliott Bros were producing fine aviation instruments from around 1910.
This altimeter -- numbered 139 was originally fitted to the pioneering 'Instrument Board' together with clock, airspeed, and tachometer.
One of the very few early WW1 aircraft to be fitted with the Instrument Board was the Royal Aircraft Factory - BE2b.
